Also in Hebei Province, nearly 50,000 houses collapsed due to flooding. Approximately 8.6 million people have been affected.
Meanwhile, in Henan Province, central China, 15 people were killed and eight others were missing after the storm and strong winds, forcing 7.2 million people to evacuate. 18,000 houses were destroyed.
The Chinese government said more than 1.5 million hectares of crops were damaged, resulting in direct economic losses of more than 20 billion yuan (3 billion US dollars).
